In modern life, the idea of cutting down on the time the population spends commuting to work is an appealing one. Some suggest that to achieve this, the spaces occupied by parks and gardens near city centres should be transformed into apartment complexes, allowing people to reside conveniently. Although this proposition has its benefits, the importance of green areas cannot be underappreciated. This essay aims to explore both viewpoints and offer a personal perspective on the matter.
